Blue Wonderland

Some of my stamping friends wanted help coming up with a card using this beautiful stamp set, Wonderland, and they wanted it in all blue.

Here’s what I came up with:

Blue Wonderland

  • Colors:  Soft Sky background, Bermuda Bay (3 5/8 X 4 7/8), Lost Lagoon (3 3/8 X 4 5/8), Whisper White (3 1/4 X 4 1/2), Silver strip (3 1/4 X 1/4)
  • Stamp Set:  Wonderland
  • Accessories:  Cute bow cut from Mini Treat Bag Framelits, random sequins

I’m glad they asked me for this idea.  Don’t think I would have done all blue, but I really like the results!

I’ve been waiting for a card sketch that would challenge me to use the little left-over pieces from the Hearth & Home Thinlits.  I found it this week at Freshly Made Sketch #210!

Tin of Cards for Christmas

Came up with these two ideas when cleaning up scraps on my desk!

Wonderland meets Tin of Cards

I’d messed up the gold from Tin of Cards, getting it gluey, so I trimmed it down & added Winter Wonderland Specialty DSP (which is gorgeous!).

Home for Christmas Meets Tin of Cards

That’s the DSP called Home for Christmas.  Love the old fashioned look!  I covered up my gluey spot with a sentiment from Oh, What Fun! stamp set.  Cut it out using Tags & Labels Framelits.

Christmas Cards Already?!

I always have the best of intentions when it comes to sending out my Christmas Cards!  I mean, I make cards almost every day!  But December always catches up with me and then there’s just too much to do to send out a bunch of cards.

Not this year!  Monday I gathered with some other determined stampers and we spent the very hot day stamping, eating, and listening to Christmas music (and having a fun, fun time!).  It was a “shoebox swap” so everyone came up with their own designs and did the prepping for everyone else.  The cards were so completely different and beautiful!!

Shoebox Swap for Christmas 2015

Wonderous Wreath

Here’s my card, using Wonderous Wreath, and cased from Elaine Schader. Thanks, Elaine!  I couldn’t change a thing!

Francine's Snow Place Card

This adorable card was created by Francine, one of my downline girls, using Snow Place and that beautiful Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Marylou's Star Card

Marylou, also one of my downline, came up with this pretty card.  Using the Star Framelits, this is a perfect way to use up some DSP!

Louella's Snowflake Card

Louella came up with this beautiful card!  Love the colors!!  Louella used a retired set and the Festival of Trees.  And we all appreciated how simple it was!  Especially after making Yvette’s amazing card!!

Yvette's Slider Card

Yvette's Slider Card (2)

Isn’t that the coolest card?!!  It was a little bit involved, especially since Yvette (also my Downline Girl) is the Embellishment Queen!!  Good thing we each made 4 cards because I’m definitely keeping one for myself!

Ramona's Wonderland Card

Last, but not least, it’s Ramona’s elegant card using Wonderland and the new, pretty Cording Trim.

Christmas Shoebox Swap

That was such a fun day!  Thanks, everyone, for stopping by…

A Hawaiian Christmas

It’s been hot and muggy on Maui for several weeks!  Hurricane weather.  Trying to come up with Christmas Card ideas, I just couldn’t get myself to stamp any snow scenes.  Here’s what I came up with:

A Hawaiian Christmas

IMG_9751

At my August Card Class, we made a similar card and everyone really liked the technique.  Found the idea here on Stampin’ Connection.

Here’s the one from class:

Here For You

One more.Hawaiian Santa

I really, really love this card, but not for the reason you think.  The palm and the Hawaiian Santa were a gift from a dear friend, Wendy.  Wendy is the person who got me into stamping many years ago (24 years?!) when our kids were in preschool together.  I remember dropping our kids off then heading over to her house for a few hours of stamping.  We’d stamp some images in a few different colors and just ooh and aah over our creations!  I don’t even think we had any layers or embellishments, but I was HOOKED!!

Wendy passed away after a long battle with breast cancer about 2 years ago.  I helped to care for her for the last 6 months and was very blessed by her courage, her friendship, and her faith.

I’m not really sure how to end this post… so I’ll just say that one of the best things about stamping is the friends I’ve made!
